Across the educational landscape, Student achievement is often measured only by test scores. While strong academic performance is meaningful to us, we believe that persistence is equally worthy of celebration. When Learners feel encouraged, they are more likely to advocate for themselves, ask for help, and believe in their ability to succeed.
Iowa Choice Charter prioritizes encouragement, enabling Students to continue their educational journey with a positive mindset. We find creative ways to uplift our Learners in their daily work, and consistently highlighting their milestones — big and small — is one of the main ways we provide positive reinforcement in the Classroom. Additionally, our flexible, no-fail approach allows Students to learn at their own pace without fear of falling behind or being judged.
Celebrating Wins in a Virtual World
Our virtual learning tools center on encouragement as a focal point. Personalized dashboards, real-time feedback, and live performance tracking help Students see their growth unfold. These features also empower Learners to take ownership of their educational journey while receiving consistent guidance along the way. In our experience, the flexibility of online learning, paired with meaningful feedback loops, creates a supportive environment for both the personal and academic development of our Learners.
In addition to offering the tools mentioned above, we work to ensure every Student feels seen and valued; no matter where they may be learning from. We intentionally create space to celebrate wins throughout our virtual school community and on our social media platforms. These moments of recognition bring joy and contribute to a strong sense of belonging, even in a digital environment!
